We absolutely love living in Schertz-Cibolo-Selma for so many reasons! First and foremost, the people here are as friendly as a Texas hug, and have hearts as big as the state itself. We may be close to a big city, but we’ve managed to hold onto that small-town charm. We have a rich heritage, thanks to the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railroad, beautiful neighborhoods that will make you want to Instagram every corner, amazing holiday parades and celebrations that’ll make you want to break out into a patriotic song and dance, hot air balloon festivals that’ll make you want to fly away and never come back, restaurants that’ll make your taste buds do the cha-cha, and bars on old town main streets that’ll make you want to become a regular!
Randolph Air Force Base is a gem in our community and our military pride is well established and visible in the daily activities of our people. We have a special place in our hearts for our brave service members and their families, and it’s always an honor to have them in our community. We have a sense of community here, it’s like one big happy family where everyone knows everyone, and if they don’t, they’re just a friendly introduction away. We have a diverse population, and it’s always a delight to learn about different cultures and customs.
The weather here is perfect, there are times when you can wear flip-flops and a t-shirt in the winter, and then switch to shorts and a tank top in the summer. It’s like living in a permanent vacation! We have a great school system, our schools are known for their academic excellence and extracurricular activities. The sports teams are always competitive and the marching bands are out of this world. We have a great park system here too, we have parks with playgrounds, parks with hiking and biking trails, parks with sports fields, and parks with just a nice place to sit and relax.
We can go on and on about our community. Schertz-Cibolo-Selma is a fantastic place to call home. We have everything you could want in a community, from friendly people and a small-town feel to a rich heritage and great schools, and parks. So come on down, y’all! We’ll be waiting with open arms and a big Texas-sized smile.
